FACT:

The truth is, Chiropractic is one of the safest, most effective, conservative, drug-free, non-surgical methods of health care. Its emphasis on wellness is a new model of health care which will be the model for the New Century.

And with NO side effects.... WOW!

FACT:

Within 1 to 3  minutes of a misalignment occurring; it takes only the pressure of a dime to cause a 60% reduction of nerve function.

Within 1 to 3 hours, 50% of the nerve fibers rupture. This releases toxins into the body that can cause early bone degeneration (arthritis) and other tissue breakdown.

Do you have time to waste???

FACT:

The HEADACHE... accounts for one-half of all visits to doctors. Nine in ten of us get headaches. Half a billion dollars are spent each year on over-the-counter headache remedies.

Do you think the headaches are caused by the lack of DRUGS in our bloodstream?

Chiropractic works! Let it work for YOU!

Dr. Steve Haas

"Several years ago (a true story) I had a lady come into my office with complaints of neck pain and headaches which had lasted intermittently over a 9 year period.

She told me that she has been going to an orthopedist who for 9 years had prescribed pain pills and muscle relaxers for her. She brought two sets of x-rays with her which he had taken. One set was from her first treatment 9 years earlier and the latest set were AFTER 9 years of treatment. (And I have copies to prove it, see below!)

Both sets showed a slight reversal of the normal forward neck curve, however, the newest set showed that the 5th and 6th neck bones and disc had degenerated to a moderate to severe degree.

When I pointed this out to her she said, "Yes, my doctor saw that and told me HE COULDN'T HELP ME ANYMORE"! Help her? When did he help her? He just drugged her!

Anyway, I also asked her why she waited so long to get the proper chiropractic treatment. And her answer still gets to me today. She said, "My orthopedist told me NOT to go to a chiropractor, THEY'LL HURT YOU!"

Well, I told her that in my opinion, he was the cause of the arthritis and degeneration in her neck, because he kept her from seeking the "Proper" treatment she NEEDED! And that was Malpractice, plain and simple!!!"

"So come on M.D.'s, we need to work together for the good of the patient.  Forget about  your bias and wallets!"

(Don't get the wrong idea, I work closely with many MD's, but the ones like is mentioned above, I have no use for!)

Anyway, I am happy to report that even though I was too late to prevent her neck degeneration, I was able to relieve her headaches and most of her neck pain. Even after 9 years!"

If you're having neck pain,
Dr. Haas is to the rescue!

At Haas Chiropractic, we know about Neck Pain. Whether it is neck stiffness, soreness or full blown PAIN. Whether you have radiating pain into the shoulders, arms or hands, neck pain is all too common.

And no wander, your neck is the smallest part of your spine and it has a bowling ball on top of it! Yep, your head weighs as much as a bowling ball, usually from 12 to 15 pounds! So your neck is more prone to injury from poor posture, wear and tear, abuse, stress and trauma. The spinal vertebra or joints of the neck and spine can be pushed out of alignment which in turn can stretch, distort or tear the soft tissues which support those bones......OUCH!

Chiropractors are specially trained to manipulate or adjust the subluxated bones in your body to realign then or help put them back into place. Your chiropractor (that's me), can treat stiffness and instability, and pain from a wide variety of neck and/or spinal problems:

  • Stiffness or decreased movement can come from poor posture, stress, muscle tension, fatigue and many other causes. And you can have pain, muscle spasms and knots, and you can get a muscle tension headache, which is the most common of all headaches!

  • Instability or increased movement of the neck can be the result of a "Whiplash" injury such as from a car wreck or sports injury. What happens is the supporting tissues of the neck could be strained, sprained or torn, causing pain and a weak feeling in your neck. Like your head is too heavy.

  • DJD or degenerative joint disease can also cause neck pain from changes in the joint and/or disc from wear and tear, an old forgotten trauma or a problem that just keeps getting worse. This also causes stress, muscle tension, fatigue and headaches which are often worse in the morning. Like in the lower back, the facet joints play a big part in neck pain. (Lucky you)!

  • Any of the above problems can cause nerve problems as well. This could be a mild to severe pain running down your arm or just show up in a finger, or it could be numbness or tingling. This can be brought on by just turning your head "pinching" one of the many nerves.

One of the most common complaints with neck pain are muscle spasms and small, localized painful areas in the muscle. These painful "spots" are called, Active Trigger Points (ATP). They are like a "Charlie Horse" and can be very painful. ATP can be found in the neck muscles, the traps (shoulder muscles) and/or along the spinal muscles. They can refer pain from the neck into other areas like the shoulders, arms and hands. "Not a good thing."

The neck is the most sensitive area when it comes to pain symptoms. What I mean by that is, ALL the nerves have to travel through the neck to get to the other parts of the body. That is why if someone breaks their neck, they can become paralyzed from the neck down or practically paralyzed. Because the nerves in the neck have been damaged by a bone or disc. Either way, it is a devastating result of a traumatic injury.

Don't let your pain fade away over time. Your body will start to ignore pain after a while. Pain is just a warning sign that something is wrong. So find out WHY you are having the pain and let a Doctor of Chiropractic help you if he can. Don't wait! Subluxations can be helped. Degenerative arthritis for the most part, can not!

"THE  X-Rays"

These are the x-rays I talked about in the "Blue" area at right. Of course the one on the left is the first one taken in 1982. Notice that the disc space (the dark spaces between the bones) in the circle is about the same as the other discs. Little degenerative change can be seen.

Now look at the one on the right taken in 1991. You can plainly see that the disc space is narrower and the edges of the two bones are flared out (these are bone spurs). Both views show the same reversal of the normal necks curve. NO corrective care was ever given or offered to this patient! Just drugs to cover up her "symptoms".

Nope! Those pain pills and muscle relaxers couldn't correct the obvious structural misalignments, but had the orthopedist referred her for proper care, chiropractic may could have!
